\n\"German\"\ndie australische Zentralbank wollte mit ihrer Leitzins-Anhebung abwarten, bis die Inflation deutlich \u00fcber dem Ziel von 2-3% liegt. Mit 5.1% in Q1 2022 ist dieses Limit \u00fcberschritten und Philip Lowe (sorry, hatte ich doch Tiff Macklem aus Kanada in einem fr\u00fcheren Beitrag als den RBA-Vorsitz tituliert) zieht den Leitzins nach \u00fcber 11 Jahren um 0.25 Basispunkte auf 0.35% an. 0.1% mehr als erwartet wurde, was mir beweist, das Philip doch eher in den Kreis der „Tightener“ geh\u00f6rt. Weitere Leitzinserh\u00f6hungen wurden f\u00fcr den australischen Dollar angek\u00fcndigt.\n

\n\"English\"\nthe Australian central bank wanted to wait until inflation was well above the target of 2-3% before raising its key interest rate. With 5.1% in Q1 2022, this limit has been exceeded and Philip Lowe (sorry, I had titled Tiff Macklem from Canada as the RBA chairman in an earlier post) is raising the key interest rate by 0.25 basis points to 0.35% after more than 11 years. 0.1% more than expected, which proves to me that Philip really belongs in the circle of „tighteners“. Further rate hikes have been announced for the Australian dollar.\n
