24-Mai-2023, Adrian Orr, Vorsitzender der neuseeländischen Zentralbank erhöht den Leitzins abermals um 25 Basispunkte auf nunmehr 5.5%.
Auf Seite 28 des Statements liest sich „Market pricing reflects the expectation that central banks have now reached, or are near, peak policy rates in this tightening cycle“. Mit „Market pricing“ ist die Headline-Inflation gemeint, welche nach Auffassung der meisten Ekonomen in Q2-2023 seinen Zenit überschritten hat. Diese „dovishness“ in der Rhetorik lässt den Insel-Dollar um rund 2.5% sinken (von 71.4 auf 69.4).

This „dovishness“ in rhetoric sends the island dollar down some 2.5% (from 71.4 to 69.4).
